Michaela Neuberger

Executive Director

Michaela is a caring, pragmatic, and collaborative leader known for her ability to communicate. She uses technical knowledge and business acumen to carry ambitious vision into practical implementation. Michaela has over ten years professional experience in the private and public sectors. She managed operational improvement projects in the construction industries of England, Germany, and France. In BC, Michaela has worked on market transformation initiatives for new construction, existing buildings, and low carbon electrification for BC Hydro and the City of Vancouver. Recently, Michaela was the Director of Operations for Vancouver’s Zero Emissions Building Exchange. A mother of two, Michaela is thoroughly committed to helping create healthier futures.

Paul Reynolds

Director of Projects

Paul Reynolds is the Founder and Managing Principal at Fulcrum Projects. Fulcrum is a Vancouver-based project management company that specializes in representing Project Owners on real estate construction projects. Fulcrum offers a comprehensive range of services which are delivered with a balance of robust project management and progressive solutions. Fulcrum’s mission is to drive change in the real estate industry, and fundamentally reshape how sustainability is incorporated into construction projects. Paul’s key Clients include: TELUS, BC Hydro, and the Government of Canada.

Charlotte Barrow

Project Manager

Charlotte has six years of experience in climate change research and project management in the built environment in London, UK, and internationally. She has worked on community projects to quantify the value of social housing refurbishment, improve air quality in cities, and develop green infrastructure solutions in urban environments. She has two years of experience in ESG consulting, where she helped develop a scoring system aligned with social housing metrics, and worked with businesses across sectors to measure, improve, and communicate their environmental and social impacts. She recently moved back to the West Coast after 13 years in Europe and lives on Vancouver Island, where she grows vegetables, hikes, and swims.

Lewis Seitz

Project Coordinator

Lewis joined Affine as a Project Coordinator while completing his Integrated Engineering degree at UBC. His diverse work experience in various industries complements his multidisciplinary engineering background, equipping him with a grasp of a range of technologies and their potential applications for innovative solutions. His industry experience and student projects have prioritized developing the optimum solution for stakeholders and includes research, design, and manufacturing. Passionate about sustainability, Lewis hopes to facilitate continued improvements in efficiency and electrification to reduce energy consumption and decrease reliance on fossil fuels.

    Director, Corporate Sustainability - Ledcor Industries

    Morgan McDonald is Director of Corporate Sustainability with Ledcor, one of Canada's largest and most diversified construction companies. He previously led a program called Ledcor Renew, which supports commercial and institutional building owners in understanding the financial and technical feasibility of high-performance projects for both new construction and retrofit. Morgan has over 20 years of experience with a background in renewable energy, carbon finance, and sustainability education. He serves on the Board of Directors for QUEST Canada and was a past BC Chapter Chair and national Director with the Canada Green Building Council. Morgan is also a Juno award-winning musician.

    Mel is currently Director, ESG at BCI where she focuses on ESG strategy and integration within BCI’s Infrastructure & Renewable Resources portfolio, including in due diligence, asset management, engagement with portfolio companies, and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining BCI, Mel was Vice President, Climate Change, Resilience & Sustainability at WSP Canada, leading a national sustainability and climate advisory practice providing services across a range of sectors, including financial services, infrastructure, industry, real estate, and government. Prior to WSP, Mel was a Principal at SSG, leading the delivery of several decarbonization and climate resilience plans for cities in Canada, including Toronto and Halifax. Mel holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Master of Planning, and PEng (Professional Engineer) and PMP (Project Management Professional) designations.
